Driving on the Faroe Islands
After picking up your rental car from the airport, you will be ready to get started with your adventures. While the traffic rules of the Faroe Islands are the same as most European countries, there are some things to keep in mind. First of all, there are lots of tunnels that connect the islands together, some subsea and some that go through mountains. While the new tunnels are all two lanes, the older tunnels are single-track which takes some getting used to. All mountain tunnels are free to use, but the subsea tunnels require a tunnel pass, which you can add to your booking when renting a car. Another thing to be aware of is that there will be sheep on the roads in the Faroe Islands, so you must keep your eyes open. We know that the nature on the Islands is stunning, but please remember that it is not allowed to stop on the roads, you must pull over to the side.

Do I need a credit card to book a car?

How old do I need to be to rent a car with Enterprise?
In Denmark you have to be at least 19 years old and must have had your driver's license for at least a year. If you are under 25 years old, you pay an extra charge per day.
How is the rental car insured?
In Denmark, the rental car is always insured with all statutory insurances and also includes comprehensive and liability insurance. They cover expenses for damage costs with an excess of DKK 5,000 per damage based on the terms and conditions stated in the rental contract. If you book a car abroad, the car is also always insured, but the deductible can vary from country to country.
Can I choose the exact model of car that I want to rent?
No, unfortunately not. We change our fleet frequently to ensure that our cars are always new, therefore we cannot promise a specific model. However, our cars are always rented based on size, so whatever vehicle you book online, you will receive a car in a comparable size.
